Delighted to have got my 2nd YR Visual Communication students work showcased as part of the international TOSEL Conference at the Langauge Institute of University of Sharjah. The exhibition explores how typography can act as a vessel for personality, story, and cultural meaning. Each student selected a public figure whose presence extends beyond their profession—figures who represent ambition, resistance, identity,

or imagination. Starting with research, students extracted key-words, quotes, and core traits, then translated those into typographic structures. Through layering, fragmentation, and repetition, they examined how the shape of a letter can reflect tone, personality and personal history. The work reflects an understanding of type anatomy—serifs, counters, stems, and terminals —as formal elements that can be reshaped to evoke feeling or presence. The letterforms are not just legible—they are expressive.

Each typographic composition stands as a visual response to a personality—bridging design with identity through form. The AI Revolution and the Future of Language Education

The conference features a comprehensive scientific program that includes interactive panel discussions and keynote lectures delivered by renowned international speakers. It also offers research presentations and specialized workshops showcasing the latest tools and trends in language education and over 220 concurrent presentations and poster sessions. It also features an exhibition of the most recent teaching and learning materials. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the development of the field through knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices. 19th April - 2025
