As part of my reflection on the state of my beloved country, Syria, after the war, I presented my paper titled 'Ruined but not Forgotten: Syrian Cities Witness to Destruction & Loss.' In this paper, I explored the profound impact of the conflict on Syrian cities, delving into the physical and cultural devastation that has occurred. I examined how these urban landscapes, once vibrant and full of life, now stand as silent witnesses to the immense destruction and loss experienced by their inhabitants. Through this presentation, I aimed to shed light on the resilience of the Syrian people and the enduring significance of their cities, despite the overwhelming challenges they face. By highlighting these stories of ruin and remembrance, I hoped to contribute to a broader understanding of the war's long-lasting effects and the urgent need for reconstruction and healing.
